3 TIPS FOR HITTING NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Create Milestones

The key to staying motivated is often building in little celebrations from the start to the finish line.

If you want to lose 20 pounds, why not celebrate every time you lose five? This keeps you focused on more manageable chunks of accomplishment while giving you a reward to motivate you further.

Rather than taking the wind out of your sails, milestones you celebrate along the way make things more psychologically manageable.

Create Milestones

In the gym, one of the best ways to save time and increase volume is by using supersets—where you do sets of two different exercises back-to-back. Typically, you’ll want to pair exercises that hit different muscle groups.

For instance, say you pair a tricep pushdown with a forearm curl. Three supersets will look like this: pushdown, curl, pushdown, curl, pushdown, curl. Because you move between body parts, you rest your triceps while working your forearms and visa-versa, which radically cuts down on rest time.
